Our chapter is known as the premier financial podium in SE Michigan. Delivering high-quality speakers and content, growing and retaining members, and ensuring effective succession planning continue to effectively position the Detroit chapter and our members for success. We maintain a special emphasis on the "Rise of Detroit" by providing Financial Executives with dynamic speaker presentations, opportunities for career development, networking, and unique experiences at each of our events.

Meetings
We hold eight dinner meetings, two social evenings, and a variety of Hot Topic sessions and webinars each year.  Our dinner meetings are held at The Detroit Athletic Club and other venues surrounding the metro Detroit area. The evening includes a CPE career development session, a CPE professional development session, networking, dinner, and a top-notch CPE keynote presentation. Follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn to keep to date on upcoming events!

Membership
The FEI Detroit chapter has seen continuous membership growth. Currently, the membership count is nearly 500 members, representing a broad cross-section of Metro Detroit’s financial community. Angela Barr and Andy Emmert, Co-VPs of Member Services, could use your assistance in growing and retaining members. If you are interested in volunteering on the membership committee, please reach out to Sofia Konstance Nyland, Administrator, at [email protected].

Understanding emerging issues: FEI saves you time by delivering insights on emerging issues directly to your desktop. Our e-newsletters, award-winning magazine, webcasts, in-person conferences and financial reporting blog help you stay on top of the latest in finance best practices, news and research.

Support advocacy for corporate finance: FEI has achieved a reputation for being a widely-influential voice on behalf of financial executives before the U.S. SEC, FASB, PCAOB, IASB, and the U.S. Congress on issues related to corporate financial accounting and reporting and business policy. Our eight advocacy and accounting policy committees help develop positions and statements that affect the financial climate in which you do business.

We deliver the information you need in a fast and friendly format!

Enhance your career opportunities: Through our online Career Center, individuals receive access to benefits that include executive-level job listings, a resume bank where members can post at no cost, expert advice on resume development, Board Director opportunities and more. Find out how your compensation and benefits compare to your peers through our surveys and studies. Download our easily searchable spreadsheet of executive search firms. All this is free to FEI members.

Networking at local Chapters: FEI members can expand their network at the local level. By participating in monthly Chapter meetings and events, you can strengthen relationships that will enhance your career while discussing timely topics and earning CPEs.

Relevant research from Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF): Since 1944, FEI's independent research affiliate, FERF, has been dedicated to identifying, developing and providing leading edge, practical content through objective research to members and nonmembers alike. All research reports and articles are available in electronic formats and are FREE to U.S. FEI members.

One can obtain a year’s worth of Michigan required CPE credits from FEI at no additional cost over membership. Up to 20 credits are available by reading specific articles from The Financial Executive magazine and taking a five-question test on-line. Over another 20 credits are available by attending the Detroit Chapter Speaker Dinner Meetings and additional events.
