Strategic Insights for Financial Leaders: Adapting to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Trends

Presented by the University of North Texas, G. Brint Ryan College of Business, Center for Energy Accounting & Sustainability
This program is designed to provide a deep dive into the evolving landscape of consumer financial protection. Our panel of experts will explore a variety of pressing issues currently shaping the regulatory environment, notably the implications of Dodd-Frank Section 1071 and the recent decision from the U.S. Supreme Court that could significantly impact financial practices.

The discussion will delve into the latest litigation and regulatory actions targeting late fees and other "junk fees" that affect consumer finances. Panelists will analyze these developments through multiple lenses—legal, regulatory, and business—to provide a holistic view of the challenges and opportunities these trends present. Additionally, the session will cover emerging developments from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), offering attendees strategic insights on how to adapt their practices to align with new regulations and consumer expectations.

This session will equip financial leaders with the knowledge and strategies needed to navigate the complexities of the current financial regulation climate, ensuring they are well-prepared to adjust their operations and policies in response to these critical changes.
