Thank you to those who attended FEI Cincinnati's first meeting with Marianne Lewis, FEI members & partners. It was great to get together for the first time in program year 2023-24 with lots of great feedback on the venue, speaker and networking!
Michael Phillips was awarded a plaque for his great presidency for program years 2021-2023. Thank you, Sarah Burton, for your commitment to presidency of FEI Cincinnati during terms 2023-2025.
Marianne's presentation, alongside her book, Both/And Thinking shared some of the following highlights:
- You can do the right thing (such as implementing ESG) and be more profitable than you imagined (this is in reference to being able to incorporate sustainability goals with growing profitability – by reducing waste via sustainability, you can increase profitability).
- When conflict arises, you can leverage two sides of conflict by taking the best pieces of each side of a conflict to determine the best outcome, either for your business or for a personal conflict.
- Humans like to make either-or decisions. This presentation allowed attendees to consider how to make both/and decisions to leverage the best elements from all sides of conflict.
- Tension can be turned into creativity and discomfort can turn into ambition whether you are making an important business decision or confronting major challenges in your personal life.
