A three hour morning session will be taught by Robert Wolcott, Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Kellogg Innovation Network (KIN) and a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Professor Wolcott won Teacher of the Year from Kellogg’s EMBA program in 2013, 2014 and 2015. His presentation is Playing for the Future:  Leading Innovation within Established Organizations.  As artificial intelligence, virtual reality and other technologies accelerate, customer expectations change across B2C and B2B environments. Meanwhile, well-funded start-ups and the FANGs assail more traditional players (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google.) How can established enterprises continue to thrive?  What new tools exist?  What questions should executives be asking to ensure long-term success? Prof. Wolcott was rated extremely high by participants at last year’s Kellogg seminar. He will spend 15 minutes reviewing the material from last year as a foundation and then launch into the new territory of the tools our businesses will need in order to compete in this environment.

In the afternoon, we will have a session with Dr. Marianne Seiler, Ph.D., who currently serves on the faculty at Northwestern and Columbia University in the master’s programs in predictive analytics. Additionally, she engages in research and consulting work focused on the application of data in customer facing functions. Dr. Seiler has over 30 years of experience in applying data to drive excellence in sales and marketing. She holds an MBA from the University of Texas – Austin and a PhD in management from the Drucker Ito School at Claremont Graduate University. In this digital age, customer interactions with companies–aka customer experience (CX)–have become central to effective competition. Analysts predict that over the next five years, customer experience will overtake price and product as the number one brand differentiator. As CX increases in importance, capital investments and operating costs to provide these experiences continue to climb. Unfortunately, for many companies these investments have failed to return value. In this interactive session, learn how analytics are being used to guide CX investment decisions towards improved returns.

The full day program will include continental breakfast, buffet lunch, coffee breaks and closing cocktail reception.
