Although he specializes in all areas of state and local taxes Paul has spent a majority of his career addressing complex state income and sales and use tax issues and has a strong background in the manufacturing and automotive sectors. Paul’s experience includes planning and restructuring of multi-state businesses, audit controversy and appeals, litigation support, nexus studies, voluntary disclosure agreements, negotiated incentives, tax credits, FAS 109/FIN 48 reviews, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, transfer pricing, and refund recoveries.
Paul has 7 years of Big Four firm public accounting experience at PwC and E&Y and 10 years of industry experience. Before joining BDO, Paul was the State Tax Manager at Lear Corporation and a Tax Attorney at DTE Energy.
