Greeting FEI Tampa Bay members, sponsors, and friends!

2024 has been a great year for our chapter thus far. We’ve held two well-attended chapter meetings on the economy and cybersecurity and have plans for a local company event at MicroLumen later this month.

If you’re new to the chapter or have not attended a meeting in recent months – I encourage you to register for our March chapter meeting. We’ll hear from executives at MicroLumen who will discuss the company’s history and growth, as well as their unique employee engagement plan. In addition, we’ll get a tour of their campus in Oldsmar which includes two cafes, a fitness center, and a putting green. It will be a great opportunity to connect with members and sponsors and learn about a unique local business.

Philanthropy is a big part of our chapter and this year we have three philanthropy events on the calendar.

In February, our members and sponsors visited Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay and worked with local 8th graders navigating JA BizTown. This is a memorable experience for young people and teaches them about personal finance and financial responsibility. As finance professionals, we have a unique set of skills that can enhance this experience for local students. If you have not volunteered with JA before, I highly recommend you make time for this event next year.

On May 3, we’ll also spend the afternoon volunteering at Metropolitan Ministries. This organization is near and dear to my heart, and I would encourage all of you to sign up for this volunteer day. Metropolitan Ministries is doing incredible things in our community to help combat homelessness and equip at-risk residents and help them get back on their feet. Stay tuned for additional details and registration information.

Lastly, our annual sporting clays tournament will be held on Friday, November 8. Be sure to save the date and check your email for more information later this year.

If you’re new to our chapter, or have questions, comments, or suggestions – please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or a fellow board member. Your feedback is important to us.

I look forward to connecting with you at an upcoming event!

Sincerely,

Joanne Dempster
