Alex Cross

Alex Cross is Sr. Director of M&A Integration & Transformation at PayPal, an S&P 100 company that creates innovative technology to make the management and movement of money safer, simpler and more affordable for over 300 million active customers in more than 200 markets around the world.  He also serves as President of the Veterans employee resource group called “Serve”.

In his role in M&A Integrations, Mr. Cross leads the integration of acquired companies into PayPal.  He drives translating the deal model and the value drivers into actionable steps, and guides the incorporation of people, processes, and systems of the acquired company to realize the vision and financial value of the deal.  He also leads some of PayPal’s largest transformational efforts around organization, planning, and cultural to ensure collaboration and innovation. 

He is also responsible for leading Serve’s veteran efforts at PayPal, including the recruitment, retention, mentorship, and philanthropic programs benefiting veterans and their families.  In this role, he also drives strategic efforts to ensure that the larger PayPal community – consumers, merchants, vendors, and stakeholders – are included in the advancement of PayPal’s veteran causes. 

Prior to PayPal, he served in the US Marine Corps for over 15 years as an air support officer for ground combat units.  Before retiring from the Marines as a major, he served two combat tours in Iraq, was an Olmsted Scholar in Hanoi Vietnam, spent a year as a Congressional Fellow, and served as the Deputy Director of the Marine Corps liaison office in the US House of Representatives. 

He lives in Kensington, Maryland with his wife, Meghan, and three children, James (12), Julia (6) and Kathleen (6).
