Mr. Edward Fleming, Jr.

Ed Fleming has more than 30 years of diverse financial experience in the energy industry ranging from Chief Financial Officer of a start-up oil field services company to managing the financial and accounting activities for a multi-billion dollar business unit of an offshore drilling firm. Ed currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of CPS Energy, the country’s largest municipally-owned utility providing both electric and gas service.

Ed assumed his role of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in 2017 where he now leads the Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Rates, Internet Technology (IT) and Supply Chain areas with more than 400 team members.

In his most recent position, Ed advised a start-up company in Mexico on accounting, reporting, SAP implementation, policy and procedures, internal controls, performance measures, budgeting, and treasury. Throughout his career, Ed has worked in various roles including accounting and finance management, mergers and acquisitions, asset divestitures, cost and working capital management, SOX/FCPA controls, SAP implementation, process improvement, treasury, strategic planning, raising capital (including an IPO on the NYSE), lean management and business development. His wide-ranging experience has led him to develop proven leadership skills in complex and challenging situations using his unique combination of finance, accounting, strategic and operational expertise. In addition to the United States and Canada, Ed has worked in Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Ed received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and his Master of Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is also a Texas Certified Public Accountant with memberships in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Financial Executives International (FEI).

Ed is married and has three grown children.
