Peter Wilhelm

Currently in his first season with the San Francisco 49ers, Peter Wilhelm serves as Chief Financial Officer.  In his role, Wilhelm leads all areas in finance, accounting, tax, planning, technology, and stadium operations.

Before joining the 49ers, Wilhelm spent six years (2016 – 22) as CEO of Novita Ventures, concentrating on advisory engagements in finance, operations, and investments focused on real estate, technology, and sports & media.  He also previously served as EVP and CFO of Caruso in Los Angeles from 2017 to 2020, where he gained valuable experience in mixed-use development.  Earlier in his career, Wilhelm was the Senior Managing Director of McCourt Global (2012 – 2016), managing enterprise-wide operations and investments in Los Angeles, New York, and London.

Wilhelm played an integral role in the 2004 acquisition of the Dodgers and subsequently, from 2004 to 2012, was part of the executive team responsible for nearly doubling revenue; improving EBITDA by over $80 million; completing $150 million in renovations to Dodger Stadium; setting the Dodgers single-season attendance record, in addition to achieving six of the seven all-time Dodger season attendance records; and reaching the playoffs four times in a six-season span, the only time that that had been achieved since the Dodgers’ move to Los Angeles in 1958.  This dramatic turnaround both on and off the field of an undervalued sports and media property culminated in the highest sale price ever achieved for a sports franchise in 2012.

Wilhelm earned an MBA in Finance and Operations from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and a BA in Economics from Cornell University.  Wilhelm lives in downtown San Jose, California.  He spends weekends in Hermosa Beach, California, with his wife, JB, and daughters, Daly and Lily.
