Jennifer Black, CPA worked in Accounting and Finance for 20 years before pivoting to a career in teaching. She started her Accounting journey working in the Assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After working for two tech startups, she joined Oracle Corporation, where she spent the last 16 years of her career. Jennifer primarily specialized in Post Merger Integration, helping Oracle to integrate over 100 acquisitions during her tenure.
In 2018, Jennifer left Oracle to teach full time at Folsom Lake College (FLC), where she currently serves as Accounting Professor and Business Department Chair. During her time at FLC, Jennifer has aligned her courses to be offered through the California Virtual College and has created content to replace costly commercial textbooks. Jennifer has a passion for using Open Educational Resources (OER) to reduce the economic barriers to education.
Outside of work, you can find Jennifer in her pottery studio making functional wares or in her apiary tending her bees.
