Laura Beverly, CPA, received her BA in Accounting and Music from Houston Baptist University. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Half Price Books, Records, Magazines, Inc. She started with HPB in 1993 as a part-time employee, which afforded her flexibility in raising her two children. She became Controller in 2005 and CFO in 2013.
When Laura started with HPB, there were around 30 retail stores. Currently HPB has 122 retail stores in 18 different states, 5 outlet stores, as well as an online presence through HPB.com and various third-party marketplaces.
When not working, Laura enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with friends.
