Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG:) performance, reporting and assurance has gained center stage around the world as organizations seek to better understand the needs and concerns of a variety of stakeholders, improve their own performance and better communicate their ability to create long term sustainable value. Finance professionals can play a valuable role in adding value as their organizations, start, evolve and continuously improve their ESG related activities.

During the October 5 session:

  • Learn about the latest drivers and application of ESG activity that enhance organizational value and sustainability for key internal and external stakeholders
  • Gain insight into the most current ESG reporting techniques and leading practices as well as reporting frameworks used by leading organizations globally.
  • Understand internal control aspects and third-party assurance options for ESG reporting as well as integration with Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Hear about the actions being taken by the Securities & Exchange Commission on ESG disclosures
Presenter Bob Hirth is a Senior Managing Director at Protiviti and is the Co-Vice Chair of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (“SASB”). SASB is rapidly becoming the investor-preferred ESG reporting framework and has been specifically suggested by major institutional investors. Chris Power, a Senior Manager on salesforce.com’s SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team will join Bob to provide perspective on ESG-specific metrics and considerations related to investor-facing documents.
