Message from the President
Welcome to 2020! I begin with a quote from Ellen Goodman, an American journalist:
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives . . . not looking for flaws, but for potential.
As we begin the new calendar year, I sincerely hope that our FEI Chapter plays a part in you recognizing and living up to your potential. Our Chapter is comprised of folks with diverse skills sets, abilities and knowledge. I encourage you to attend a meeting and get to know them. We offer various types of programs - keynote speakers, professional development sessions, soft skills to enhance your career development and social activities – at various times of the day - before work, middle of the day, and end of the day - in an effort to offer you options that work with your schedule. Pick what works for you and attend what and when you can. You may attend all of them, but please do not feel like it’s a requirement.
Please join me in welcoming our new members to our roster so far this year. I have the pleasure of already knowing some of you and I look forward to getting to know the rest. Additionally, as we look to welcome many more members in the remainder of the fiscal year, I look to you all of you to assist with this effort – spread the word about FEI to all you meet! Be sure to advise your colleagues and peers who are not members of FEI that from January 20 through January 31 we are offering a discounted fee to join.
