A Message From Our President - January 2021

It has now been ten months since the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted just about every aspect of our daily lives. I look forward to the day when my president’s letter will not mention COVID and that it will be a memory in the rearview mirror. I do believe we can be very hopeful of that, despite the recent spike in numbers of deaths and infections, that we are about to turn the corner with the arrival of vaccines from several pharmaceutical companies. Let’s hope that the rollout of the vaccines will get over the initial glitches and we can start to get a meaningful number of the population vaccination.

I continue to be impressed with the way the board has stepped up to identify and create informative virtual presentations across a number of relevant topics. We have also acted to join with other organizations to offer joint virtual presentations. If you were not able to participate in some of our recent programming, there are links in the newsletter to allow you to see what you missed. I encourage you to view them when you have some free moments.

We have several upcoming presentations, some of which have been scheduled and others still in development, that I think will be of interest to our membership. Keep an eye out for emails that will announce events as they are scheduled.

I continue to look forward to the day when we can interact in person and return to our more traditional format, but I think the pandemic has forced us to think outside of the box and allowed us to provide content in a new way that may continue for some events in the future. I again want to encourage everyone to take advantage of the resources that FEI offers as part of your membership and also reach out to your fellow members and our chapter sponsors if they can be of assistance to navigate the path to reopening your business, make introductions or any other needs that they may be able to assist.

Stay safe and I look forward to being able to deliver these messages in person in the coming months.

Best Regards,
Kevin
