Dr. Thomas Conine Jr.

Thomas E. Conine, Jr. is Professor of Finance and has served as Associate Dean, Director of Research, Director of the Master of Science in Financial Management program and Chairman of Finance at the Dolan School of Business of Fairfield University. Dr. Conine has been an adjunct faculty member of and consultant to General Electric's Management Development Institute (Crotonville) since the early 80s. He is co-owner of TRI Corporation, specialists in corporate education. His advanced degrees include an MBA, M.Phil. and Ph.D. from New York University. He has lectured and published internationally on corporate finance and investments and has been cited as the “Number One Professor” by members of the graduating classes of Fairfield’s Master of Science in Finance and MBA programs. He is a recent recipient of the “Distinguished Faculty Award” given by the Fairfield University Alumni for 30 years of service. Other recognitions include “Who’s Who in America” and “Who’s Who in the World.”
 
Dr. Conine's corporate teaching and consulting has spanned North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, Australia, Middle East, Russia and Asia including the People's Republic of China and India. 
 
He is a recipient of NYNEX's Corporate Quality Performance Award recognizing his contributions to their Financial Management Growth Program (FMGP). His major contribution to Boeing has been a customized "Critical Thinking" Seminar for both their Commercial Aircraft and Integrated Defense Systems businesses. For GE finance he has for decades been the primary faculty member in the Advanced Financial Management Grow and Risk Classes. His has consulted with GE on numerous financial issues since the mid-80s, as well as a variety of corporations on accounting variance analysis and Economic Profit Systems. Most recently for GE, he has been teaching Finance in the new XLP, Accelerated Leadership Program, that emphasizes GE’s Digital Future. 
 
Dr. Conine’s Systematic Risk Leverage Adjustment Model for Cost of Capital Estimation has been widely used by Authorities in Australia during regulatory proceedings.  Dr. Conine has numerous articles in CFO magazine and other practitioner journals on a variety of financial topics. His academic articles have appeared in leading journals devoted to business, including the Journal of Finance. 
 
TRI Corporation has received a variety of awards from CLO on their work at Microsoft, Agilent Technologies and Synopsys.
