Stephen McIlwraith

Stephen McIlwraith is a partner in PricewaterhouseCooper’s (“PwC”) Assurance practice in New York, providing core assurance, capital markets and accounting advisory services to his clients. He has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, industrial products and medical device industries, and has 16 years of experience working with multinational and SEC companies. Mr. McIlwraith began his career in Glasgow, Scotland, before transitioning to PwC in the United States in September 2003.

He has significant experience assisting and advising clients during periods of regulatory and economic change, including matters related to revenue recognition, acquisitions, divestitures, financing transactions, strategic alliances and restructurings.   He has worked with a number of clients on carve out and spin transactions and has experience with SEC filings and public offerings.  Mr. McIlwraith is also an active contributor to the firm’s learning curriculum, leading training relating to technical accounting and auditing matters. He has served as a subject matter expert in the development of various educational courses and thought leadership and is a sponsor of the firm’s digital initiatives.

Mr. McIlwraith graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Finance and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He is also a licensed CPA in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He resides with his wife Courtney and their 2 year old son, Owen.
