Donald Reiris

Donald Reiris is a member of Ernst & Young’s National Tax Department (“NTD”) and serves as the firm’s Revenue & Expense Recognition Tax Practice Leader. In this role, he works with clients to understand their unique facts and circumstances so that proper revenue and expense recognition methodologies can be identified, evaluated and implemented. Mr. Reiris is also a member of NTD’s Quantitative Services Practice where he works with a group of dedicated professionals who develop and implement tax accounting methodologies, review meals & entrainment expenditures, perform research credit studies, analyze transaction costs and prepare domestic manufacturing deduction studies. The projects performed by this group result in reductions in effective tax rates and significant tax deferrals for a diverse client base.

 

Mr. Reiris possesses more than 25 years of experience serving clients in various industries, including software, life sciences and consumer products. Prior to joining NTD, Mr. Reiris was aligned with the North East Region, where he spent a significant amount of time addressing industry issues and developing and implementing innovative federal tax planning opportunities. His individual areas of concentration include timing provisions governing income and expense recognition, meals & entertainment expenditures, inventory accounting, fixed asset capitalization and cost recovery and Internal Revenue Service procedures regarding changes in accounting methods and periods.

 

Mr. Reiris holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, a Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School. Mr. Reiris is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and is licensed by the State of New Jersey and the State of New York as a Certified Public Accountant.
