Cheryl Dunn Soto

Cheryl Dunn Soto is a seasoned attorney with an insurance coverage and bad faith practice focused on representing corporate policyholders in disputes with their insurers.  In addition to prosecuting coverage and bad faith lawsuits on behalf of policyholders and defending policyholders against declaratory judgment actions brought by insurers, Cheryl often analyzes and assists in resolving coverage issues pre-suit, including complex matters involving multiple policies.  She has particular expertise in claims-made-and-reported policies, including D&O, E&O and EPLI policies.  Prior to entering private practice, Cheryl worked for five federal judges, including a Ninth Circuit judge.  Cheryl is a past Chair of the Insurance/Bad Faith Law section of the San Diego County Bar Association and has a peer-review rating of “AV-Preeminent” from Martindale Hubbell.  She has been named to the San Diego Super Lawyers list for the last three years and was recently selected for inclusion in the 2022 Edition of Best Lawyers in America, an honor conferred on less than 5% of all attorneys in the United States.  She is licensed to practice in California, New York, and Arizona.
