Jim Holmberg

Jim Holmberg is Fannie Mae’s Senior Vice President and Controller. He reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Holmberg and his team are responsible for Fannie Mae’s monthly financial statements and analysis – including the preparation of the company’s 10-Q and 10-K documents, corporate tax, corporate accounting, and independent price verification. Mr. Holmberg leads the effort to ensure that the company maintains a timely and accurate monthly close process complying with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting standards.

Prior to promotion to his current position in November 2021, Mr. Holmberg was Vice President Single-Family Loan Accounting where he oversaw the day-to-day accounting for single-family loans and real estate owned (REO) assets. Before that, he was Vice President Financial Reporting where he was responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s external and internal financial reports, including standardized reports of financial results to management and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Previously he was Acting Vice President for Securities Accounting, Director of Capital Markets Finance and Director of Financial Reporting.

Before joining Fannie Mae in 2009, Mr. Holmberg was Associate Director of Financial Services for Navigant Consulting. Previously, he was Director of Financial Reporting at The Mills Corporation, Financial Analysis Director – External Reporting at Freddie Mac, and Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
