Financial Leadership & Decision Making Amidst Complexity Course

Financial Executives International (FEI ) and TRI Corporation present Financial Leadership & Decision Making Amidst Complexity, a simulation-driven course delivered in an action-packed team style across the span of three and one half days, hosted in conference and corporate learning environments, such as Cisco, GE, Boeing, Dell and Stanley Black & Decker.

These organizations have used the course to increase the cross-functional acumen of emerging and valued financial leaders. This course is designed to help leaders experience how to:

• Make decisions under uncertainty (limited and uncertain information, time pressure, divergent opinions, scarce resources) from a system’s perspective;
• Develop, coach and motivate team members;
 Understand the uncertainty and change in global, regulatory, competitive and customer landscapes;
• Be a valued business partner to all functions and deal with their inter-dependencies;
• Have technical proficiency of all aspects of operating, investment and financial decisions;
• Understand competencies - when to be receptive, communicative, exploratory, or adaptable when in key management and leadership roles; and
• Create long term growth from a responsible mindset in meeting commitments, accountability and prudent risk taking.

The interpersonal and leadership skills critical for emerging leaders and future CFOs and other financial executives will be measured and coached using the IPSP™ Integral Psychology Profile Leadership Assessment. The IPSP offers a dynamic way to rethink how to solve complex problems beyond temperament; that is it offers an analytical way to discover necessary core competencies required in today’s complex organizations such as:
leadership | receptivity | communication | creativity
exploration | organization | adaptability | analysis

The course consists of several ways to build cross-functional dynamic financial leadership using the above corecompetencies throughout the experience of operating a business - with the help of others - the knowledge is acquired “in doing the work” with teams throughout the journey.

During these action-filled days, participants will also learn how to understand the relationship that one competency has with other competencies that will help increase successful decision-making or leadership outcomes during the simulation, and have relevancy upon returning to work.

The program will offer high engagement opportunities during class, plenary accomplished guest speakers through the week, and opportunities to network with other top tier leaders and emerging leadership team members from public and private, national and international organizations.
